Job Description
To establish a clear strategic vision and direction, driving brand development and revenue generation through both new and existing products, ensuring financial sustainability and viability, while continuously evolving Cameroon's premier customer service organization by maintaining a consistent focus on activities and behaviors that enhance positive customer experience and drive overall business performance improvement.
Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas
Staff Leadership and Management
• Coach and mentor direct reports to maintain high staff motivation and achieve superior performance outcomes;
• Facilitate skill transfer to support staff development, motivation, and business continuity;
• Guide and direct suppliers and third parties in achieving Opco objectives;
• Identify staff training and development requirements and implement appropriate actions;
• Manage the team (including recruitment, onboarding, and attrition);
• Establish goals and objectives for direct reports, track progress, and sustain motivation;
• Design appropriate structure to meet departmental management objectives;
• Provide advisory support on governance matters and client best practices.
Governance: Adhoc, Strategic and Operational Meetings
• Organize and participate in adhoc and operational meetings;
• Contribute inputs in tactical meetings;
• Provide reports at process and functional levels;
• Review and identify key risks, issues, and dependencies, and establish mitigation measures.
Manage Budgets
• Approve and authorize decisions regarding operational changes.
Escalations
• Manage and resolve escalations that affect the critical path of service delivery;
• Escalate issues that could result in significant time, scope, employee/customer, or cost impact if left unresolved;
• Manage and deliver solutions to issues requiring formal resolution.
Performance
• Ensure effective execution of daily operations and resolve operational challenges;
• Evaluate team performance against agreed KPIs and compliance with SLAs and reverse SLAs;
• Review and monitor continuous improvement plans through leading practice initiatives.
Reporting
• Report in line with measurement metrics established by the organization;
• Provide adhoc reports on specific management requirements as needed.
Qualifications
Education / Business Degree
• University Degree in Marketing, Sales, Strategy, or any relevant discipline;
• Possession of an MBA or Masters degree will be advantageous;
• Fluent in English and preferably the local language of the country.
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years' experience including:
• 5 years leadership experience heading the Marketing function of a large organization or FMCG;
• At least 3 years' experience in the relevant sector or industry;
• Experience working in a global or multinational enterprise with a strong understanding of emerging markets;
• Work experience across diverse cultures and geographical regions;
• Proven track record in start-up, shutdown, and/or business improvement projects.
