Good Neighbors, founded in Seoul in 1991, operates in 51 countries including Cameroon as a global humanitarian/development NGO. We prioritize child wellbeing via community-driven solutions for sustainable child protection. Our holistic approach spans education, WASH, health, food security, livelihoods, and environment to foster thriving children/communities. In Cameroon, we partner with UN agencies, bilateral donors, and INGOs for lasting humanitarian/development impact.

Project Context
Funded by KOICA and implemented with UNICEF/stakeholders, KOICA Phase II reinforces local governance/systems for better essential service access among vulnerable groups. It targets education, child protection, WASH, and social services in East Region's Lom & Djerem/Kadey Divisions. Good Neighbors Cameroon recruits 2 Social Workers to drive child protection/social support activities.

Role Purpose
As frontline responders, Social Workers identify/manage at-risk children facing violence, exploitation, abuse, or neglect in host/refugee communities. They deliver child-centered case management, psychosocial aid, and community outreach per National SOPs/UNICEF standards to uphold child rights.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management and Child Protection

• Spot vulnerable children/families needing support.
• Perform case assessments/develop individualized plans.
• Offer psychosocial support/referrals.

Community Engagement
• Lead awareness sessions on child protection, birth registration, rights.
• Build/strengthen community child protection committees.
• Promote positive parenting/safe child environments.

Coordination and Referral
• Liaise with local authorities, health/education/social services.
• Streamline referrals for at-risk children/families.

Monitoring and Documentation
• Secure confidential case records/databases.
• Aid M&E for child protection work.
• Generate activity/case outcome reports.

Collaboration with Schools
• Partner with schools to detect dropout risks.
• Support attendance/wellbeing initiatives.

Required Qualifications
• Degree in social sciences, law, education, or related field with child protection standards/CPIE knowledge.
• 2+ years in social work/community development.
• Community-based child protection/education/gender/inclusion expertise.
• Psychosocial support/community mobilization experience.
• Strong written/verbal communication.
• Local residency.
• Basic computer/data skills.
• Travel readiness to project sites.

Essential Skills
• Participatory assessment, recreation, informal education, life skills, GBV sensitization.
• Computer/data proficiency.
• French fluency; English working knowledge; local languages advantageous.
• Local networking ability.
