The YIBS center is looking for a Driving Instructor
Key responsibilities
• Full-time contract.
• Deliver structured driving lessons to learners with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and language needs.
• Assess students' driving progress, set individualised goals, and provide constructive feedback.
• Teach defensive driving, traffic laws, vehicle control, hazard recognition, and situational awareness.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and certification status; prepare progress reports as required.
• Ensure compliance with Cameroon's licensing requirements, safety standards, and organisational policies.
• Prepare and update lesson plans, materials, and demonstrations; adapt to remote or in-person formats as needed.
• Promote safe driving behaviour and model professional conduct.
• Maintain safe and compliant instructional vehicles; report any maintenance issues promptly.
• Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to support student success and programme objectives.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., transportation, education, public safety, or international studies) preferred.
• Valid driving license for the applicable jurisdiction.
• Ability to request or obtain instructor designation as required by law.
• Proven experience as a driving instructor or substantial professional driving experience with instructional or mentoring responsibilities (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and vehicle safety protocols.
• Ability to teach and motivate students from diverse backgrounds.
• Fluency in English and French required.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
• Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
• Professional certifications or ongoing training in driver education or safety are advantageous.
